Stronger Together: Welcoming the Alberta Camping Association Back to the Canadian Camps Association

As we look toward the future of accredited camps in Canada, the Canadian Camping Association (CCA) is thrilled to share a major milestone in our journey. Following a period of strategic alignment and consistent, thoughtful dialogue over the last two years, we are excited to announce that as of October, the Alberta Camping Association (ACA) will officially re-join the CCA as a member PCA.

Our Shared Commitment to Accredited Camping

This partnership represents a renewed, united vision for Canadian accredited camps:

• For the ACA and its Members: Rejoining the national body amplifies Alberta’s regional voice while unlocking national channels, shared expertise, and collaborative spaces. ACA’s 54 accredited camps serve over 55,000 children and youth annually and contribute more than $50 million to the Canadian economy. Re-engaging at the national level ensures these camps are supported by country-wide initiatives that foster safe, transformative, and high-quality programming.
  

• For the CCA and National Partners: Though our provincial associations are diverse and face unique regional landscapes, we are undeniably stronger together. Welcoming Alberta back restores a vital perspective to our national collective, enriching our shared knowledge and ensuring the Canadian accredited camp ecosystem is fully represented coast to coast.

Moving Forward

Rebuilding this bridge is about active collaboration and shared leadership. To ensure the ACA’s leadership and camp community are deeply integrated into our national narrative, ACA, like every Provincial Camp Association will be a part of CCA’s yearly membership structure and events:

• Interim Executive Director Brad Halsey will join the CCA’s Advocacy Committee and participate in the upcoming Fall National Leadership Gathering.

• We look forward to welcoming members of the ACA Board and membership to the Provincial Leadership Advisory Board (PLAB) and our National Discussion Groups, ensuring Alberta’s voice actively shapes national priorities and advocacy.
