In May 2011, Killdevil Camp made a commitment to raise funds for the Japanese Grief Recovery Camp Project, which was initiated by the National Camping Association of Japan to help with the emotional healing of the young victims of the Tsunami.
On March 9, 2012, the fund raising projects ended with a dinner. On March 13th, two days after the first anniversary of the Tsunami, Malcolm Turner, President of the Newfoundland and Labrador Camping Association and Executive Director of Killdevil Camp deposited a cheque for $2010 in the NCAJ account in Tokyo.
Killdevil’s generosity and concern for campers on the other side of the globe is to be commended. Well done Killdevil!
