It is that time of year when the CCA is asking provincial camping associations, camps and individual members of provincial camping associations to nominate a camp, an organization or an individual for a job well done.
Nominations must be submitted by October 31, 2016 for consideration by the CCA Board and the Awards Committee.
The CCA AWARD OF EXCELLENCE is a way of recognizing a person’s contribution to camping within their province. The award is intended to recognize individuals, volunteers, camps, agencies or corporations that have made outstanding (i.e., beyond the norm) contributions within their province.
The JACK PEARSE AWARD OF HONOUR is presented in recognition of contributions to the CCA and is intended to recognize individuals, camps, agencies or corporations that through their efforts have provided outstanding service to the national organization.
The RON JOHNSTONE LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD is the CCA way of recognizing outstanding commitment, over a prolonged period of time to the CCA.
This annual Award honours and celebrates excellence in research and writing that makes a significant contribution to the body of academic literature relevant to the organized camping movement in Canada.
From time to time, at the discretion of the Canadian Camping Association’s Board of Directors, special recognition may be given to those individuals, camps, associations or corporations that have furthered the camping movement and/or made a unique contribution to Canadian camping.

With sadness we announce the sudden passing of Brian Blackstock on September 9, 2016 at his home in Toronto.
Brain was a true gentleman, a lifelong camper, and a great asset to the camping profession. He was a longtime member of the Society of Camp Directors and a Past President of the Ontario Camps Association. Brian directed Camp Mazinaw, founded by his father, and had a long association with Kilcoo Camp in Ontario.
He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The International Camp Directors Course (ICDC) has been developed as a professional development course for camp managers, directors and operators. It is equally valuable for any experienced camp staff professional.
This intensive four day course addresses all aspects of Camp Management in an interactive exchange environment with other members of the camping and outdoor community and builds on skills and learning of both faculty and participants.

Cost: $750 USD for ICDC Course, accommodation and meals. Arrival by 2 PM on October 24th. Accommodations available the night of the 23rd for extra cost.
The Course is preceding the Asia Oceania Camping Congress (AOCC) and will be taught in English however, one of the faculty members is fluent in Mandarin.
